I love a good spa day! Who doesn’t? Rest, relaxation and bliss… it was exactly what my friend Caroline and I needed recently and I believe we as girls should regularly indulge in such behaviour!

Last week because I couldn’t go to my friends baby shower we planned a little spa day. She needed some mum-to-be pampering and I needed a major bout of stress relief. We decided on Owl House Day Spa located just outside of Nottingham, close to East Midlands Airport and not far from Leicester and Derby, because it looked like the perfect haven of tranquility and it most certainly lived up to our expectations!

We arrived just before 11.30am on a sunny Saturday morning for 4 hours of R ‘n’ R. We had booked on the Daffodil Package which we paid £60 for and is still available, Caroline had upgraded herself to add a pregnancy massage on for an extra £20. We were greeted by the lovely and very calm staff at the spa and sat down with our sweeties and fruit cocktail.

The perfect start to the day…!

The seating area was super cute with vintage, girly décor and masses of character! The theme was echoed throughout the rest of the venue.

The spa have some cute, warm chill-out rooms, an outdoor hot tub, outdoor huts perfect for baby-shower or hen-do games. An outdoor seating area where you can just lounge around on a nice sunny afternoon. There are also huge comfy seats scattered around the boutique spa so there’s plenty of space to just sit and chat.

After a little chilling we had our picnic lunch which consisted of a cheddar and caramelised onion quiche (we’d asked for a variation on the stilton as Caroline couldn’t have blue cheese), chocolate brownie, ciabatta sarnies and a refreshing Belvoir Presse. It was light and tasty and luckily it was warm enough for us to sit outside and enjoy the lunch.

After lunch we went for our treatments..

As part of the package I had:

  • A chocolate and sweet orange salt scrub to the back
  • Relaxing back massage
  • Heavenly scalp massage
  • I upgraded for an extra £10 to add hot stones to the back massage

Mummy to be Caroline had upgraded herself to the Mamma Mio pregnancy massage.

Both of our treatments were lovely, professional, relaxing and exactly what we needed to de-stress! The hot stones were a delight and really helped to loosen up those tight shoulder muscles.

Towards the end of our time at Owl House there was no rushing to get us out, all very relaxed and chilled.

Overall Owl House Day Spa is the perfect place to chill and catch up with friends, for mother/sister time or for a baby shower or hen do. It is definitely a place I would make a return visit to.
