I recently had the pleasure of being invited to the esteemed Society Icon Awards, held on Wednesday 10 October at the Montcalm Hotel.
Part of the Magna Group, Society is one of India’s leading celebrity and lifestyle magazine and their awards were held in London for the first time in 2018.
For over four decades, Society magazine, has profiled Indian men and women who have excelled in a range of fields spanning from business, politics, sports, film, entertainment, music and art. The evening recognised outstanding achievers across the world from various fields including, Music, Art, Sports and Education.
The event was hosted by the always glamorous TV and radio personality Anushka Arora and featured performances by British singer songwriter Navin Kundra and the wonderful dance group Arunima Dance Company. It was also exciting to see Bollywod actress Rageshwari be part of the evening along with Chef Atul Kochchar of the amazing Benares restaurant.

Actually, when I was younger with Bollywood dreams in my starry eyes, I devoured stardust which is part of their groups on a weekly basis. I was telling my guest, that in the magazine that they used to have stars addresses and I wrote to Salman Khan many times. So to be invited to be part of this event, was an honour.
I will leave you with the words of legendary cricketer Sir Clive Lloyd’s words: “I have a great affinity with India, and I’m proud to be amongst so many great people this evening.”
And it most certainly was a proud moment to be around so many great and humble people that evening.
