Today marks five years since I started writing my column for the UK’s largest Asian lifestyle newspaper Eastern Eye and what a journey it has been.

Asjad Nazir for being the best editor a girl could ask for. For letting me write about whatever crap comes into my head, for always giving me a kick up the ass when I need it and for encouraging me more than anyone else.

To my friends and family for understanding me. For giving me encouragement and support. For letting me thrash out ideas with you and for sharing your experiences with me and letting me put them into words.

To the idiot guys I have met who have broken my heart, you’ve give me tonnes of material so cheers for that!

Biggest thank you to my people who read my column, who give me feedback and who tell me they can relate to the situations I write about.

I’m sure that I won’t be able to write about dating forever so thank you all for being part of my journey so far. Whatever direction the column takes I promise to do my best with it.
