Lets admit that there are times when we need a good cry! I have many of those moments in my life, they could be happy or sad times or we could just be having one of those days. In our times of need we often turn to music, I have a playlist of sad songs and wanted to share a few of my favourite emotional songs with you. There will be a separate post for my selected Bollywood songs.
Since their reunion Take That have taken the world by storm and their comeback song Patience was a song I could relate to at a point in my life, thats why I love it..
Emeli Sande is someone who I am increasingly loving, her voice is one that touches my soul and her song My Kind Of Love is my current fave of hers, in fact her whole album is amazing and you must have it in your lives!
Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is a classic and one I can always relate to when i’m feeling a little lost…
A band I am longing to see in concert is Coldplay and their song The Scientist is a song you can relate to not just in love but to many struggles in your life ‘nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be this hard’ is my favourite line from this song…
An underrated song by Adele is Hometown Glory and my favourite song of hers. Here is a version she did live on Letterman…
And if we’re talking Adele how can we forget her brilliant performance of Someone Like You on the Brits last year. A woman who speaks on behalf of a million broken hearts. I have been lucky enough to see her peform live just before her throat surgery and she is just sublime live!
The soulful Fallin’ by Alicia Keys is sooo relevant in love when you don’t know where you stand and when someone ‘gives you so much pleasure but causes you so much pain..’
Rule the World – Take That. Enough said. (My wedding song if it ever happens!)
The Cave by Mumford and Sons. You may not have heard this but have a listen, a song which strikes when you’re losing hope…
And finally… the pain of seeing someone you love with another person even if it is all in your head: Mr Brightside by The Killers..
ADDED!!
Who you are by Jessie J is a song that I can really relate to at the moment. Sometimes people don’t accept us for who we are and we try to be someone else. Or as much as we try some things just aren’t in our destiny..
The Only Exception by Paramore speaks to those who might’ve given up on love at some point but when someone comes into your life they become ‘the only exception’ x
I hope you enjoyed my little selection; let me know what your favourites are and if you loved or hated these also let me know.
