One Minute With Dhruvi Brahmbhatt

I interacted with the gorgeous and and extremely talented Dhruvi Brahmbhatt on Twitter a few months ago and instantly fell in love with her blog. Entitled Stilletto’s and Sequins Dhruvi writes about all things fashion and dating. What a fantastic combo! I jumped at the chance to interview her for my blog; I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

1. What is your name and where do you come from?

Hi, my name is Dhruvi Brahmbhatt. I was born and raised in the lovely Motherland (India) and have been living in the US for 12 years now.

2. By day you are?

A full-time MBA student and a daydreamer!

3. By night you are an amazing blogger, tell us about it..

Well, thank you! 🙂 The blog started off as a creative outlet – just something that would motivate me to get dressed up and, maybe, motivate others to do the same. For me, what I wear has a lot to do with how I feel throughout the day. As time progressed, I also started sharing some of my dating stories and other personal stories.

4. What is your favourite part of blogging?

My favourite part would def have to be when I get positive comments on my style – esp when people say they wanna try the look!

5. Any horror stories to tell us?

Actually, no! I’ve been lucky enough to have gotten a lot of positive feedback. I am so thankful for that!

6. I often get some nasty comments on my blog – whats the best or worst (or both) comments you’ve received?

Oh dear, yes! I remember you tweeting about cyber bullies – it’s terrible! I’ve gotten some lovely comments but I think my fav would have to be this comment I got on my post about my internship – “Oh my gosh – LOVE this sneak peek into your incredibly awesome internship. I own two pairs of New Balance shoes and always like to hear about the work culture at these larger brands. How cool that you are having this experience (and nice swag!)”. I absolutely love my internship and I’m very passionate about the work I do here and the company so it’s nice to see the positive feedback.

7. Wine or cocktails?

Wine for dinner or a night in, cocktails for when I’m out dancing! 🙂

8. Your fave cuisine?

Indian!

9. Your biggest inspiration or the best piece of advice you’ve received?

My biggest inspiration is my grandfather – He passed a few months ago, at the age of 93, and never stopped working a day in his life. Also, he was a big advocate for education. Even at his age – he always told me to put my education first and make myself self sufficient. I will never forget the way he supported me in every decision I’ve made. Now that he’s gone, I hope to make him proud, everyday.

10. And finally, what does the future have in store for you….

Well, I’ll be done with my MBA next May and then, I’m keeping my options wide open. Once I’m done with my MBA, I will go wherever my career takes me. I actually think I want to move to a different country. Let’s see what happens! 🙂 In the meantime, I’ll continue to share my adventures on my blog!

I wish Dhruvi allllll the very best in the future, I guarantee her blog will be BIG and we’ll be hearing a lot from this lovely lady in the future. You can follow Dhruvi on Twitter here or read her blog which is entitled Stillettos and Sequins here xxxx
