One Minute With Reena Mumbai

Reena Mumbai. Someone whom I have had a bit of a love affair with on Twitter. Reena resides in New York City. My favourite city in the world! Enough said. Read on…

Congrats on completing the marathon recently! How did you feel at the end holding up your medal?

Before people start patting me on the back for massive feats I did not do, it was only a Half Marathon! And I felt like the strongest woman in the world. I’m not a runner by nature, this was pure will power. Also, I was immensely thankful I did not need to use the portable potties during my run.

Wine or cocktails?

Lambrusco or Prosecco (wine/champagne) I hate fruity drinks.

Abhishek Bachchan or John Abraham?

That’s like comparing rotten apples to rotten oranges. I choose secret option #3. #HotGymGuy from my Twitter timeline. (you’ll have to back me on this one, Priya.)

Define Love

I think love is the most misinterpreted word in our vernacular. It’s a deep sense of caring. Period. End.

You’re known to have a love for England – any plans to visit and what do you love about us the most?

I do plan on visiting this year. I’m not going to lie, I die for your accent. I mean, I die for your accent, pip pip!

What don’t you leave your house without?

My iPhone with earbuds. Without music the silence is deafening.

What made you start blogging?

I have a lot to say and I’ve written my thoughts out all my life; since I was about 8 and started journaling. My take on things is a bit no-nonsense. People either get me or they don’t.

What gave you the idea for your podcast?

I’ve always fancied (look, British!) broadcasting, and I had so many ideas for ways to engage our desi generational cohort. People around me started pushing me to do more with my thoughts and to use my voice.

Katy Perry or Zooey Deschanel?

I’m still not convinced they’re different people.
