I am not scared to admit that I have indulged in a spot of Online Dating. There are no eligible bachelors at work and I don’t like to mix business with pleasure. None of my friends know anyone suitable to set me up with and I don’t really want to go down the route of meeting anyone the ‘traditional Indian way’ through family.. Been there, done that, got the t shirt and the T shirt didn’t fit! So how else to meet the man of dreams?
I have met a few guys online with various outcomes. Some liked me, I didn’t like them. Some didn’t like me but I liked them. Some just wanted ‘a bit of fun’ and actually told me that! No-one that I have met online have ever been psychopaths, it just didn’t work out. Although there was 6 ft 4 guy from Birmingham who told me ‘I thought I was a superstar’ and that I’d ‘be a spinster for the rest of my life’! (I’d rather be a spinster than be stuck with that snob for the rest of my life!)
It has not been a successful experience so far. Last week I thought about signing up to E harmony but signing up was a majorly LONG process so I kind of gave up. Now, I feel that the sun had set on my time of using dating websites. I have mostly used Asian Dating websites like www.asiand8online.com and Asian Single Solution. Like I said, there has not been a bad person on these websites, just not the kind of people I have been compatible with.
Friends of mine have also met people from dating websites and there have been some very happy endings. But some haven’t had such great endings. But I’m sure there are and will be many, many happy endings with couples who have been bought together through dating websites. There will always be those guys who join for a bit of fun but remember girls, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your Prince Charming x
Do check out Asian D8 Online (www.asiand8online.com) it’s a really good, safe and easy to use website! They got in touch with me straight away when I contacted them on Twitter (http://twitter.com/AsianD8) to say I was being contacted by people I did not want to be contacted by. Also, they have sponsored me for my run, which was lovely of them so a big thank you to them! 🙂
Tell me about your online dating experiences.. x
I totally hear where you are coming from in online dating! It can really suck sometimes, and it’s like finding a needle in a haystack. I sort of have to believe, however, that it’s worth the time. I mean you do hear these stories of people who meet someone absolutely great online. Keep on trying … sending positive thoughts your way.
Thank you! Yes, I haven’t given up yet. It’s just so hard to find someone who understands you……I cant give up yet…..keep the faith xxx

Thanks Jas!
Yes I did have a look at it – great site!
Are you only based in the US at the moment? When do you plan to launch in the UK?
Thanks
Priya
Our plan is to take over the world actually hehehe – we want to be based everywhere since desi’s are everywhere. We just started in July so it will take us a few months 🙂
Excellent, I look forward to seeing you dominate the Universe with your cupid/matchmaking skills!
Although if a nice guji Amercian boy would like a nice guji British girl do send him my way!!! hehe! 🙂
One of my best friends, I met through a free Yahoo dating trail back around the year 2000. Since that time, I’ve tried a few sites and none have really done anything for me. I’ve found that I’ve had far more luck with women on sites like MySpace and Twitter just being myself. That said, there is one site that has stood out as a cut above the rest and that’s OK Cupid.
Ok Cupid? What is that?

Think of the advert for e-Harmony. Then think of it as being free. Think about it not being so thoroughly geared towards dating and you e-Harmony. Questions, quizzes and personality matches.
