50 Ways To Find a Lover by Lucy-Anne Holmes

There have been a few things which have inspired me to start this blog. The first was the above book, 50 Ways To Find a Lover by Lucy-Anne Holmes. Secondly Miss Malini’s blog (http://www.missmalini.com/) which is super-amazing and gives you all the gossip on the Bollywood and Bombay party circuit, thirdly, Bridget Jones’ diary where instead of a diary I have a blog and finally the last person was MV who gave me that final push to  actually start writing this blog!

I thought I must share this amazingly, funny book with you all.

The basic review shared on other websites is as follows:

“I feel like a failure. It’s now been 351 days since I had sex. That’s a carnal drought. If Bob Geldof knew about it he’d hold a concert. Sarah Sargeant has been single for three years and nine months. She has just spent five months plucking up the courage to ask out a balding man with a paunch who works in her local pub. The gentleman in question informed her that he would rather stay in and watch the Narnia movie on DVD. Her pride has not just been bruised, it’s been disembowelled. And she vows it’s the last time she will ever reach out to a member of the opposite sex. But her family and friends have other ideas. They enter her into a reality TV show against her will, persuade her to go speed dating and even more radically, they encourage her to start a blog. Suddenly Sarah Sargeant is on a mission. A mission to explore 50 ways to find a lover.”

Now, I am not on a hunt to find a man and neither am I going to give you 50 ways to find a lover because god knowes how many times I have been rejected! so even if I did give you 50 ways they are very unlikely to work! E.g. If a man wants to go out on valentines day with his boys instead of on a hot date  with a woman then clearly he does not fancy you,  right? I mean men are universally known not to be great communicators and what I think is so wonderful about this book is that this girl could be anyone who is unlucky in love! It could easily be me, you or your mate down the road! Because it is with the ease and simplicity she puts these universally known facts into her book.

Watch out for the ‘hair removal cream’ moment! Haha!

I seriously suggest adding this to your summer collection of must have book to read!
