Social Dhaba review

I love to check out local restaurants so this weekend I was excited to visit North-West London’s newest Indian restaurant, Social Dhaba.

Social dhaba

Located in the heart of Hatch-End, I had heard from friends and work colleagues that the food and cocktails were lush so was really looking forward to it.

We had to book a few weeks in advance for a table for a Saturday night (couldn’t get a table until 8:30pm) so would advise booking in advance.

We had the following drinks:

Old-fashioned

Lychee rose martini

Copper cups for water

Standout dish – tandoori king prawns which tasted unreal! Very non-prawn tasting, really tender with an almost chicken like texture.

Shahi paneer

plain rice

I’m not a whisky lover, but the old-fashioned cocktail was lush! Also really liked the copper cups and jugs the water was served in, i’ve heard that drinking from copper has various health benefits so will definitely be looking those up!

The décor is really nice, it has a lot of wooden features and very reminiscent of places like Dishoom but without having to travel into central London. Prices were reasonable and in line with the prices of other restaurants in the area.

Definitely recommend Social Dhaba for all your occasions and do let me know if you visit!

Finally, a huge thanks to our waiter Ninad from ‘the land of Bollywood, Bombay’ as he described himself – he was amazing as he recommended some great dishes, gave us some great banter and tested my Hindi.
